Growing up, I fell asleep to my grandmother's stories; their rhythms and rich local details left a lasting impression. I later realized many Bengali folk tales (লোককাহিনী) survive only in memory, varying by region and rarely being formally documented. This led me to begin recording and transcribing these stories, which resulted in GolpoNir.
At GolpoNir, I collect stories from multiple sources to ensure a broad preservation of Bengali culture. Some come from rare or obscure books, often decades old, which I carefully transcribe and archive digitally to safeguard them for future readers. For example, discovering a collection of stories in a book from 1987, transcribing it, and ensuring its accessibility is a process that demands both patience and a commitment to cultural preservation. I also collect oral tales directly from my community and region, recording and transcribing them to capture their unique voice. Additionally, community members contribute stories from their own backgrounds, allowing GolpoNir to reflect the richness and diversity of Bengali storytelling.

Bengali: অনেক বাংলা গল্প, বিশেষ করে আদি ও লোকগল্প, প্রথাগতভাবে মুখে মুখে পৌঁছে আসেছে, বইয়ে লেখা হওয়ার পরিবর্তে। ছোটবেলায় আমি দাদীর গল্পের সঙ্গে ঘুমোতাম; তাদের ছন্দ, স্থানীয় সূক্ষ্ম বিবরণ সবই আমার মনে গভীর ছাপ রেখেছে। পরে বুঝতে পারি, অনেক বাংলা লোককাহিনী (লোককাহিনী) শুধু মানুষের স্মৃতিতেই বেঁচে আছে, অঞ্চলভেদে ভিন্ন এবং খুব কমই আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে সংরক্ষিত। এই উপলব্ধিই আমাকে এগুলো রেকর্ড এবং লিপিবদ্ধ করা শুরু করতে প্রেরণা দেয়, আর এখান থেকেই জন্ম নেয় GolpoNir।
GolpoNir-এ আমি গল্প সংগ্রহ করি বিভিন্ন উৎস থেকে, যাতে বাংলা সংস্কৃতির বিস্তৃত সংরক্ষণ নিশ্চিত করা যায়। কিছু গল্প আসে বিরল বা অপ্রচলিত বই থেকে, প্রায় দশকের পুরনো, যেগুলো আমি যত্নসহকারে ডিজিটালভাবে লিপিবদ্ধ করি এবং ভবিষ্যতের পাঠকদের জন্য সংরক্ষণ করি। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, ১৯৮৭ সালের একটি বইতে গল্পের সংকলন খুঁজে বের করা, তা লিপিবদ্ধ করা, এবং সহজলভ্য করা, এই প্রক্রিয়ায় ধৈর্য এবং সাংস্কৃতিক সংরক্ষণের প্রতি প্রতিশ্রুতি প্রয়োজন। আমি আমাদের অঞ্চলের লোকদের মুখে-কথিত গল্পও সংগ্রহ করি, রেকর্ড এবং লিপিবদ্ধ করি যাতে তাদের স্বতন্ত্র কণ্ঠরীতি সংরক্ষিত থাকে। এছাড়া, সম্প্রদায়ের সদস্যরাও নিজেদের পটভূমি থেকে গল্প শেয়ার করেন, যার ফলে GolpoNir বাংলা গল্পের বৈচিত্র্য এবং সমৃদ্ধি প্রতিফলিত করতে পারে।
